Lobuche peak climbing can be an extended version of Everest base camp. It is a fantastic acclimatization hiking that will facilitate during the trek to Everest base camp. Famous spots such as Gokyo lake, Lukla airport which is known as the world most dangerous airports, surreal Namche valley lies across the trail leading to Lobuche peak. The ethnic Sherpa culture is experienced throughout the trip, which gives an idea of the bravery, and strength of Sherpa’s which is well discussed in various articles and research papers.

Overview

Lobuche comprises of two main peaks, Lobuche Far East and Lobuche East. Both these peaks are 6000 plus meters high. Lobuche far-east has an elevation of 6145m, whereas Lobuche East is 6171m tall. Lobuche lies very close to Khumbu glacier. Lobuche peak climbing is quite challenging than other peaks, but the adventure and adrenaline rush is overwhelming. From the peak, mountaineers can have the perfect view of Mount Everest right in front of the eyes. Besides Everest, spectacular panoramic view of Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam and Pumori range is seen. Lobuche peak can be combined with Everest base camp trek and it will take almost 19 days to complete the entire trek along with Lobuche peak climbing.

Safety tips

Attempting a high-altitude trek or expedition requires decision-making skills as the altitude keeps on increasing, there are chances of altitude sickness and physical illness. A well-planned trip, which includes sufficient acclimatization plans, would ease the process of Lobuche peak climbing. No prior climbing experience is required in order to climb Lobuche East. Pre-ice climbing training is available for the climbers with all the safety gears and emergency rescue tips. In order to climb Lobuche peak, minimum 5-6 hours of walk each day is required throughout the trip whereas, on the day of the summit, climbers need to push a little harder and have to walk about 8-10 hours. The ability to tolerate harsh weather conditions and reasonable fitness and stamina is essential throughout the trek.

Accommodation

Teahouses are available at every 5-6 hours walk. These teahouses provide warm and homely meal along with the ambience that favours the writers and creative minds. Camping is the only option once the expedition to Lobuche peak begins. Tents along with sleeping bags that have the ability to withstand the hail storm and blizzards whereas foam mattresses will ensure the good night sleep. Typical Nepalese food along with continental food menu gives the feeling of being at home far away from home.
