Langtang Gosaikunda Trek is truly a journey full of a wilderness experience with the combination of religious pilgrimage. This trek gives you the once in a lifetime experience of a heartwarming journey into the cultural heritage of Tamang people and the sacred site of Gosaikunda. The holy lake – Gosaikunda is combined with the splendid Langtang Valley and Kaylin Gompa. Talking about other high-altitude lakes in the area, Saraswatikunda and Bhairabkunda are other high altitude lakes found in the area. Hence this trek will surely give you the opportunity to experience the breathtaking and eye-catching landscape, unique culture and lifestyles of people; most of which are influenced by Tibetan cultures and gain the divine aura around the Gosaikunda Lake.

The sacred lake Gosainkunda has acquired its reputation amongst both Hindus and the Buddhists. From the Hindu Mythology, it was believed that Lord Shiva created the lakes when he plunges his Trishul into the rocks of the mountain to extract water so as to cool down his fiery throat after he had swallowed poison.

Accommodation

From the region with People with amazing hospitality, it is quite easy to get basic accommodations. The Langtang Gosaikunda Trekking route has a number of decent tea houses that can be found every few hours along the trek. So it quite easy to find a decent place to have a meal and get some rest. Tea houses serve you with blankets and pillows free of cost, so you shouldn’t worry about carrying a sleeping bag.

Safety Tips

This Langtang Gosaikunda trek lasts about 16 days which involves hiking for around 5-6 hours daily. For this, it’s quite obvious that you should be physically fit as you need to be hiking on hills which won’t have fair roads. As obvious as it may sound you should be carrying some medicines and first aid kits, water bottles, Torch, etc. Have a look at the lists below which are must-have gears for trekking:
