Overview
Gokyo Lakes Trek is one of the most beautiful and highly recommended tours for tourists all over the globe. Everest Base Camp Trek via Gokyo valley is famous for the series of tall mountains that stand right before the eye. The Cho La Pass and surrounding lakes in Gokyo Valley make tourists feel as if they are in paradise. Cho La Pass takes us through the landmarks of the Khumbu region accompanied by majestically elevated mountains, rich and friendly Sherpa community, colorful monasteries, naturally wonderful Namche Bazaar, and the mighty Mount Everest.
Accommodations and Meals
Gokyo Lakes trek offers both tea-house and camping options. Trekkers can either choose to stay at teahouses, which are warm and cozy and offers various food menus just like at home whereas camping is another wild experience in the woods. Luxury tea houses with attached bathrooms are also available to the tourist who wishes to choose the easy way. During the trek, tourists can enjoy authentic Nepalese meals as well as the more common international cuisine that includes Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Indian, etc. The teahouses provide bed and breakfast or anything from the lodge menu is available. Welcome, and farewell dinners are provided by the Sherpa community with respect to the tourist’s effort to travel to the Khumbu region. Homemade beer made from barley is a famous drink, which the Sherpa’s love to drink before the meal.
Safety Tips
Everest Gokyo Lakes Trek is a moderate-to-difficult trek. It passes via Cho La pass, which is at high altitude compared to any other pass. The icy landscapes of Cho La pass make Everest Gokyo Lake trekking more difficult and challenging compared to other famous trekking circuits. Therefore, previous trekking experience, physical fitness, and a positive attitude are essential. Tourists are likely to walk for 6-7 hours a day in average. Past hiking experience is necessary but does not require technical mountaineering expertise. The medical condition of the trekkers is necessary to be in a fit condition without any chronic disease.

Day 01: Arrival in Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu (1300 m/4264 ft)
Day 02: Fly to Lukla from Kathmandu and trek to Phakding (2651m/8700ft) 8km, 3 hrs trek
Day 03: Phakding to Namche (3440m/11280ft) 11km, 6-7 hrs
Day 04: Namche Acclimatization day or exploration day
Day 05: Namche to Dole (4200m), 5-6 hours
Day 06: Dole to Machhermo (4,470 m/ 14,663 ft): 5 – 6 hours
