

Nepal is small country situated in the south Asia. it is extended to an area of 885 km in east west and 1093 km in north south. The total land area of the country is 147141 square km. it is bordered by India in east, west and south and by china in the north. Therefore it is a country sandwiched between the two giant countries. The country is very beautiful and attractive. It has many natural attractions. The civilization of the country is found to be influenced by the culture and civilization of the neighboring countries. however the country has a unique identity of its own and politically it is an independent sovereign country. The high Himalayan ranges, mountainous, rocky land, the big rivers difficult to cross barren and infertile land and the land locked nature of the country have made the the development tasks very challenging and difficult on the other hand the favorable climate and hard working and honest people of the country are the assets of the country. The country is much renowned in the world for its culture, trade and ethnic diversity. It may be surprising to know about the different tribes and inhabitants of the country and the language they speak. The census which is generally held in an interval of ten years was last held in 2001 A.D. According to the last census the total population of Nepal was 22736934 and there were more then 100 tribes and the number of the languages they spoke was 92.The country is like a garden full of multicolored flowers. Actually the beauty of the country lies in this diversity and cultural unity. Different religious groups like the Hindus, the Buddhist, the Muslims, and the Sikhs live in the country. However they all live in harmony and respect one another's culture, tradition and rituals. Actually, it seems that all these religions have mingled into one another and have influenced the lives of the people living in the country.
